Impact Workshop
Creating social impact with responsible innovation
Every innovation has an impact that affects us as a society to a greater or lesser extent. Innovation processes often focus on technological applications and benefits for the customer group without considering the social, ecological, and economic consequences. This can lead to innovations having unexpected and unintended side effects that can lead to social problems or inequalities, as well as environmental damage.
However, if innovators consciously consider the consequences of potential innovations, problems can be identified at an early stage and measures can be taken to prevent or mitigate them - ideally, innovations can also be designed in an intentionally positive way.
The creation of responsible innovations requires that the needs and perspectives of the affected stakeholder groups be taken into account and their problems addressed. This can also raise awareness of social and sustainability-oriented innovations and their importance.
This opens up a much broader creative space beyond the typical idea space and can be used as a conscious social challenge for brainstorming.
This is where the Impact Workshop comes in
Nowadays, transfer projects or startup ideas not only have to be innovative, but also must consider the impact on the environment and society to be successful in the long term.
The Impact Workshop raises awareness and enables people to make these effects visible systematically. Being aware of your own impact creates transparency for internal processes as well as for external stakeholders - and is an important first step towards responsible innovation.
